The RNC says it’s investigating whether a social media post alleging a sexual assault is true.

The RNC says it’s aware of a social media post circulating online alleging an assault near Quidi Vidi Lake and is investigating to determine the validity of the post. In the meantime, the RNC has increased patrols in this area.

The RNC is encouraging anyone who has information to report it directly to police for investigation. Crimes in progress should be reported by calling 911. Please contact the RNC at 709-729-8000 if you have any information to assist the investigation.
