Corner Brook RNC are warning the public of the presence of a black bear in the Valleyview Road area around 3:14 a.m. Saturday.

Residents reported the bear after they heard it checking out their trash cans. Patrols were made and the bear was dispersed into a nearby wooded area.

Residents should be aware of the possible threat and take steps to protect their small pets and remove attractants away from their property.
