The RNC have laid assault charges have been laid after a man sought treatment for injuries in Corner Brook. On Wednesday afternoon, officers responded to Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook following a report that a male had arrived at the site with serious injuries. Officers believed the injuries to the 54-year-old being treated at the hospital were the result of an assault with a weapon.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of Cabot Lane in Corner Brook. On arrival, officers located a 39-year-old male believed to be responsible for the assault. He was arrested without incident and has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The 54-year-old male victim remains in hospital. The RNC is asking anyone with information to assist the investigation to contact the RNC at 709-637-4100.
