RNC officers observed two motorcycles driving dangerously through Conception Bay South around 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Both of these motorcycles stopped at a local business, and when police approached, both attempted to flee.
One of the operators was arrested on scene. As a result, the 23-year-old male was charged with assault with a weapon, dangerous driving, flight from police and resisting arrest. The operator also provided a breath sample which registered an amount of alcohol above the provincial limit. The operator’s license was suspended, vehicle impounded, and he was taken to the St. John’s city lockup.
An investigation into the second motorcycle operator, who got away, is ongoing and there are charges anticipated against them. Anybody with any information is asked to contact the RNC or Crime Stoppers.
