Mother Nature has arrived. The mild winter the province had been experiencing isn’t so mild today.
The Avalon woke up to snow-covered streets and snow continuing to fall throughout the morning. Schools in the metro-area, including Memorial University and the College of North Atlantic (Ridge Rd. Prince Philip and Seal Cove campuses), are closed for the day. Provincial and Supreme Court are also remaining closed for the day.
Schools in the Metro, Clarenville, Bonavista, and Carbonear systems are closed all day. MUN and Marine Institute St. John’s campuses are also closed. Some western region schools have announced that they will be closed for the morning. A full list of NLESD school statuses can be found here.
Metro bus transit is running today, expect delays due to weather.
Provincial government offices will be opening at 1 p.m. today.
