Jul 9, 2010 | The waters around Bell Island cover many memories and relics, and the remains of four WWII freighters continue to attract scuba divers from around the world. A very personal connection to two of the shipwrecks was made this week by a woman from Europe. Her father, now deceased and then the captain of a German U-boat, was responsible for torpedoing two of the ships, and she comes to Newfoundland with items for the Bell Island Museum. NTV’s Steve Thompson reports.
