In the span of half an hour, between 1:50AM and 2:20AM, RNC in the Corner Brook Region caught two drivers traveling at dangerous speeds. Officers were patrolling the Trans Canada Highway in the area of Riverside Drive and first stopped a 35-year old male who was monitored driving 145km/h in a 90km/h zone. Then, just 30 minutes later, a 25-year old male was caught driving at 146km/h in the same area. Both men were charged under the Highway Traffic Act for Speeding in Excess of 31km/h. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary reminds the public to drive responsibly and that fines for speeding at those levels range between $300-$750.
