Team Gushue fell short Sunday night in its effort to win a second consecutive world curling championship.

Sweden’s Niklas Edin won the rematch of last year’s final 7-3 over Team Canada. It was a third world championship for Edin, while the Gushue rink settled for silver a year after winning the world title.

Team Gushue will still represent Canada as defending champions at next year’s Brier.
