The attention has also brought skepticism of Mr. Blackburn’s story. People online have questioned the details surrounding the bashing, his subsequent quick stay in the hospital after a supposed blood transfusion, and his numerous tweets to celebrities promoting his story and a fundraising website set up for donations. He has even tweeted making light of the situation. All the online criticism spurred Blackburn to take down the video.
Mr. Blackburn still hasn’t responded to a request from NTV News for an interview. It is also still uncertain if there is a police investigation into the alleged hate crime. But RNC have said there has been no official record of the assault on Mr. Blackburn.
