St. John’s South-Mount Pearl MP Seamus O’Regan moved from veterans affairs to indigenous services in Monday’s federal cabinet shuffle in Ottawa.
The shuffle was prompted by last week’s resignation of Scott Brison. The Nova Scotia MP said he will not be running in the next federal election. Jane Philpott moved from indigenous services to fill Brison’s old job as president of treasury board. That paved the way for O’Regan to move into indigenous services.
Jody Wilson-Raybould moved from justice to O’Regans old job of veterans affairs, and David Lametti was sworn in as Canada’s new justice minister.
