It’s been a year of transformation for the Exploit’s Valley Salmon Festival and organizers say this year they turned a profit. That’s in comparison to losses of nearly a million dollars hosting mega concerts in recent years.

The 2019 festival did not take place on Centennial Field. Instead, concerts featuring local entertainers in partnership with Music NL were held at several venues in town over a five-day period. While not everyone is happy about the loss of the big bands, the town council says the new format is here to stay.

Meanwhile, council insists the stage is available to any interested promoter.
