A man previously acquitted of murder has now been charged with attempted murder. Ray Stacey was arrested after an incident in Paradise this weekend.

Around 1 p.m. on Saturday, the RNC responded to an assault at a residence in Paradise. Prior to police arrival the suspect fled the scene. He escaped to a nearby business parking lot and made away in an idling parked vehicle with a passenger still inside.

During his attempted getaway the man lost control and crashed on the lot. He was followed by a witness on foot and soon arrested by RNC. The female passenger was not believed to be injured but was transported to hospital for precaution. The initial victim of the assault was also taken for medical treatment.

Stacey has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated and weapons assault, robbery, and unlawful confinement.
