With the Liberals set to elect a new leader and premier-designate on Aug. 3, questions came out Wednesday about the possibility of a snap election. Legislation states that once the new premier is sworn in, he will have to advise the Lieutenant Governor to dissolve the House and call a provincial election within 12 months. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says there are ways to hold an election safely during a public health emergency.
