Memorial University says there are no new fees proposed for students in a proposed budget going before the Senate and the Board of Regents next week. That’s despite fears raised by the MUN Students’ Union of a 3.6 per cent tuition hike for all students. Education Minister Al Hawkins says the province has committed to a tuition freeze for Newfoundland and Labrador students, even though the university’s operating grant has been cut.
