Steve Bragg, 35, of Mount Pearl was charged Saturday with second-degree murder for the death of Victoria Head.

Bragg was taken into custody Friday, more than a month after Head’s body was found in a field near O’Brien’s Farm Road on Nov. 11. Relatives of Victoria Head spoke to reporters Saturday after the charges were laid.

“I’m just happy that they finally got somebody in custody,” said Victoria’s brother, Billy Jo Head. “Hopefully, justice is going to be served and I hope there’s no chance of bail.”

Police say Bragg and Head knew each other, but Billy Jo Head said he had never seen Bragg before.

“Never saw him before in my life.”
