Nominations for the NDP leadership closed Friday with Alison Coffin as the only publicly declared candidate. Lawyer Mark Gruchy decided not to run and is supporting Coffin instead. Former NLTA president James Dinn also decided not to run. Nobody else had publicly declared by the 5 p.m. deadline, but the party said it would take some time to vet the nomination papers before making an announcement. Meanwhile, the House of Assembly will resume sitting for the spring on Monday. NTV’s Michael Connors reports.
