A well-known activist who spent time in prison after protesting Muskrat Falls is running for the federal NDP nomination in Labrador. Beatrice Hunter spent time in a men’s prison in 2017 when she refused to stay one kilometre away from the construction site. Hunter said on Twitter she is running because she wants to change the way Ottawa works with Indigenous governments.
