Police have charged a 25-year-old inmate at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary with attempted murder.
The charge was laid in connection with an assault that happened in the prison June 8. The RNC say they received a complaint that one inmate had assaulted another inmate with a weapon. The alleged assault happened during recreation time.
The victim was treated by medical staff and did not sustain life-threatening injuries. The inmate who was charged will appear in provincial court on Thursday morning.
Sources tell NTV News that the victim of the alleged assault was Trent Butt, who is charged with murder for the death of his daughter, five-year-old Quinn Butt.
