Brad Gushue and his Team Canada rink improved to a perfect 5-0 at the 2018 Tim Hortons Brier with a win over Nova Scotia last night.
The defending Canadian men’s curling champions – which also includes Mark Nichols, Geoff Walker and Brent Gallant – scored two points in the seventh and ninth ends to defeat Jamie Murphy’s Halifax rink 9-6.
“I thought we played pretty solid, a couple little mistakes that we need to clean up but I like how our team is throwing it and we are looking forward to tomorrow,” said Gushue.
It’s a big day for curling fans in this province as Gushue and Co. square off against Team Newfoundland and Labrador tonight (9:30 NL time). It’s the first time this province has even sent two teams to the Brier. Team NL, led by skip Greg Smith, are 1-4 heading into today’s action.
