Memorial University president Gary Kachanoski will leave his position six months early. His term was due to end June 2020, but on Thursday he announced he will finish December 2019. Kachanoski says that will allow the university to bring in a new president at the start of the next budget cycle. MUN has now initiated the search for a new president. Kachanoski plans to stay at MUN as a professor.
