James Perry, 29, of Conception Bay South entered a guilty plea to theft over $5,000 in provincial court Wednesday.

In 2014 a fuel service company formerly employing Perry accused him of stealing almost 170,000 litres, or over $200,000 of diesel fuel in a six-year period.

Perry, who was previously arrested and released to appear at a later date, had a warrant issued for his arrest and was apprehended Tuesday by Canadian Border Services and turned over to the RNC when he docked in Harbour Grace on a vessel.

Perry was released on $1,000 bail and is due back in court December 2.
