Following a three-week investigation, the RCMP NL Federal Serious and Organized Crime unit in St. John’s arrested four males who were engaged in identity fraud across the province.

Two men from Quebec, 29-year-old Doudou Kikewa Mpumudjie and 46-year-old Joseph Kalombo Ndonkiand, and two from Alberta , 26-year-old Toussaint Yenga Yenga and 23-year-old Gustave Ngandu Kalombo were arrested in St. John’s yesterday.

Police seized stolen Social Insurance Cards and fraudulent Driver’s Licences from British Columbia and Ontario, as well as cash and gift cards totaling upwards of $10,000.

The males were believed to be travelling throughout the province and using the false identities to open fraudulent bank accounts, cell phone contracts and to obtain other goods and services.  The four males appeared in provincial court yesterday in St. John’s
