Here’s some good news for those who enjoy a day on the water in Newfoundland and Labrador.
After much uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, there will be a recreational cod fishery this year for a total of 39 days. The announcement was made by federal minister Seamus O’Regan this morning.
The groundfish fishery will be open to both residents and non-residents. The summer season starts July 4th weekend and continues on each weekend through to Labour Day.
The fall season lasts for nine days, Sept. 26 to Oct. 4.
