Smoke and flames were coming from the third floor of 10 Chapel Street when firefighters arrived around 8:30 Wednesday night. There were no injuries and a search of the 120 year old home failed to find anyone inside.

The three story wooden structure is in a block of five attached homes and there were fears that the fire could spread.

Firefighters made a quick attack and was able to knock down the flames, but the fire did get into the roof areas and holes had to be cut in the roof and walls of a neighboring home. Damage is extensive. There is no word at this tine as to the cause.
