West Coast –
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with onshore flurries and snow squalls become less intense overnight. Lows near -14. Wind chills as low as -30. Winds west at 20-30.
Wednesday: Light snow and flurries. Snowfall amount 5 cm. Up to 10 cm possible in the mountains. Highs -1 to -4. Wind chills into the minus teens. Winds southwest 30-60 km/h
South Coast –
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with scattered flurries. Lows near -10, with wind chills into the minus 20s. Southwest winds 20-40 km/h.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with scattered flurries. Highs near -2. Wind chills into the minus teens.
Northern Peninsula –
Tonight: Mostly clear and cold. Lows in the upper minus teens to lower minus 20s. Wind chills into the -30s.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy skies in the morning turn cloudy. Flurries in the afternoon. High near -6. Wind chills into the minus teens with southwest winds of 30 to 60 km/h.
Tonight: Flurries in the west and scattered flurries along the coast. Light accumulations possible in the west. Lows into minus 20s. Wind chills into the -30s and -40s.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with scattered flurries near the Straits and around Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Highs near -10. Wind southwest 20-40 km/h will put wind chills into the -20s and -30s.
NL EXTENDED FORECAST
Thursday will see mostly cloudy skies across the Island, with a chance of freezing drizzle in the afternoon on the Avalon. Highs near 0. Labrador will see quiet weather, under mostly cloudy skies, with highs near -10.
Friday will see a weak low move into the Gulf of St. Lawrence. This will spread snow across much of NL, except a mix of rain and snow (and possibly ice) on the Avalon. Highs near 0 on the Island and -10 in Labrador.
An area of low pressure will intensify northeast of Newfoundland Friday night and Saturday. This will bring more snow to central, southern and western Newfoundland, while eastern areas will likely see a mix of rain and snow. Much of Labrador, east of Churchill Falls, will also see snow. Snow will end from west to east on Saturday. Even the Avalon should see the mix end as snow. Highs near -5 on the Island and -10 to -20 in Labrador. Coldest in the west. Any change in the low’s track will result in a change to this forecast
Partly to mostly cloudy skies will be found across the Province on Sunday. Highs on the Island near -4 and Labrador will see a high near -10.
