Ticket sales for the new ECHL team in St. John’s opened today at noon. The team, rumored to be called the Newfoundland Growlers, will begin its season in October.
To secure season tickets for hockey, fans will need to put down a $50 deposit per seat. Season ticket prices range from $650 to $1,100. When you put a deposit down for season tickets, you’ll be given a number based on when you purchased – seat selection will be based on that number. St. John’s Edge basketball season ticket holders will get first dibs up until May 16.
“Priority will go first to St. John’s Edge season ticket holders to secure their seats – they’ll have until May 16th to do that,” explained St. John’s Sports and Entertainment Chief Executive Officer, Sheena McCrate. “Then on May 17 we’ll prioritize everyone else who has made a deposit and prioritize them against being previous season ticket holders for hockey and let them come in and select their seats as well, that won’t start until after May 16th”
Dates for hockey have been submitted, not approved yet but tentatively accepted by the league for hockey.
The current schedule is being planned to have six nights of hockey and four nights of basketball each month.
