The 199th Royal St. John’s Regatta went ahead Wednesday morning despite the damp conditions.

The top men’s and women’s crews did not disappoint in the first races of the day. M5, the defending women’s champions, clocked a blistering time of 5:01, just five seconds behind the course record.

Outer Cove dominated on the men’s side, crossing the finish line in 9:04. NTV will have live coverage of the men’s and women’s championship races right after the news at 6:30 p.m.
