Police have charged a 20-year-old man for causing flooding at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook.

The RNC was called to the hospital on Friday after a man intentionally damaged a water sprinkler head in the emergency department, causing extensive flooding. A 20-year-old Corner Brook man was charged with one count of mischief over $5,000 and one count of causing a false fire alarm.

The man will appear in provincial court Sept. 12.
